Raven Firearms

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with Raven Firearms? I have a .25 myself, curious if there are any issues that I should know about.

Ive heard they are garbage, but Ive never shot one myself.

From what I hear, the main issue you should worry about is it blowing up in your hand. Second most important issue is it not going bang when you pull the trigger.

Thats just what Ive heard though, I could be wrong. I know Ive seen them selling at gun shows for pretty cheap, for what its worth.

I had one 20 years ago. They are reliable and durable. The caliber is useless. The safety is dangerous. I carried one in my pocket with a round in the chamber and safety on, pulled it out and found the safety off. Also, if you need to press it into service quickly do you think you can un "snick" the safety quickly with one hand?

Get a real pistol. Or at least a Keltec p32.

Guess I will always have that to fall back on,lol. I was given it as a gift for my 18th birthday once upon a time, so I guess it makes an ok paperweight if nothing else.

My roommate in school got shot with a raven .25 cal ,left a spot on his chest black and blue but didn't go through his blue jean jacket .

Something to ponder:
Why does superman just stand there with bullets bouncing off him , yet ducks when the empty gun is thrown at him ?

I had one once. I would not rely on it for defensive use. A really angry person threatening to do you harm might well become even more dangerous if a dot25 is deployed.
OTOH, if that s all ya got.......... shoot for the eyeball.

Bobby Kennedy was killed with a .22 .....I assume 22LR ....but it might have been a short. I'll try to figure that out.

A 25ACP only has about 75 ft-lbs of energy...while a 22 LR has 100 even in short barrel pistols....and up to 140 ft-lbs in rifles.

I do not care for 25ACP...at all....esp in cheap guns that may be unsafe to carry a chambered round.

I agree with all of the above. Also, be carefull with the slide cutting the top of your hand. I have held one, not fired one, and when I rack the slide it just drags across the web of my hand.

The gun is not good for much. Get rid of it at a gun show and get a real gun. If money is real tight, you can pick up a used Taurus (Brazil) revolver. 38 special or .357 mag. If you have the money, buy American. Most of the time, our guns are better.:emotions16:
